John Higgins

John is a private equity media business consultant and investor.

John co-founded a construction company in South Wales, which he built up and sold, before moving into banking by joining an American and Scandinavian consortium bank in the City.

In 1984, he moved to The Fuji Bank, Limited where he spent 10 years on the UK corporate finance side, and then in the Financial Institutions Group, where John's work with clients such as Eagle Star, and AMP, resulted in FIG achieving the no 1 position in the UK Syndicated Finance Market for 3 years running.

In 1993, John was appointed to the International Finance Group within Fuji, which looked after all Fuji's business within the emerging markets of Europe, Africa and the Middle East. After successful stints in the Middle East and South Africa, John was appointed Head of this Division.

In 2002, John left Fuji to act as a business angel in the UK private equity sector where he has helped to set up, grow, and dispose of several companies in a variety of sectors.
I'd thoroughly recommend Stalkie and I'd thoroughly recommend his training and the workshop I attended to other businesses. I think it's really helpful to come out of the workplace and think about what some of your core values are.

I'd expected that to be a very short experience and after 24 to 48 hours it would wane, but it hasn't, it's stuck with my colleagues. I think an injection every month of that positivity is going to be fantastic... I definitely see it for the long-term. It's got us talking about what we want for the business and where we're going, and individually what we want from it.
